The Price

The first thing to remember in life is that there's always a "Price"!

When discussing price over one's career there are many costs attached:  I'll explain what I mean by "The Price" in your career.

When you start looking for a product or service (car, home, attorney), you know there's a cost attached to it.  When you only have a certain amount of money to spend, doesn't that govern your buying power and/or options?  While determining what's available, often you may find that the cost for the item or service you really want is more than the actual dollars you have to spend.  Will the organization go ahead and sell you the item or service at the dollars you have?  I think not!  As we all know, no matter how much effort you've put into earning the money - if you don't have the actual “Price” to pay – you're not going to get that item or service!

Unfortunately, over one's career there may be times when we find out that the cost (the requirements and background) of the position that we actually wanted is more than the price (our experience/background) that we actually have to pay for it.  It won't be any fun to find out that what you have (your background) really doesn't buy you the position you wanted.  There are various employment price issues here; however, it will normally come down to just a few, and they are extensively covered in the “RKS:  298” Employment Concept.
