The "Pyramid Effect of Employment "
The “pyramid effect” will play a major role in a person’s career and very few people have any knowledge or understanding of it. So what is this “pyramid effect”? It is mostly about the competition level that exists within all companies and how competition will have a major affect on an individual’s employment career – no matter what level of employment one strives to obtain. It is a major piece of employment data and information required for you to increase your odds for career success.
One needs to visualize the shape of a pyramid. Now consider that all companies have a similar shape of a pyramid; you have one person on top of each company and where is the largest number of employees within the company – in the bottom half. We all or most of us start at the bottom – no one wants to stay there. Of course not, because we all want more money and a better opportunity. Through our careers we all strive to reach the next step up the career ladder, and if for no other reason for greater dollars. Consequently at each step along the way there will be fewer people required at the next level, thus there’s a potential to create a serious career problem later on in one’s employment career – why? We all expect to earn more money every next year and every year throughout our entire employment career. This creates an impossible event, how do you take all those employees who are in the bottom half of the company/pyramid and cram them into the upper half? Look at the pyramid shape, there is not enough room for all those employees. You need to talk with EMCON to determine how this affects you.
What really adds fuel to the fire these days is that we all are living longer. Do you know what your life expectancy will be for your age group (male or female)? The real employment concern is how many additional years will you need to work because you’re probably going to live 10-15 years longer than you anticipated? If today you are 40 years old or under, your group will be mobile into their 90’s and you have a 75% shot of getting there. Would it be a surprise that mobile people spend more money than those who only sit on their front porch and watches their grass grow? What amount of money will one need to create to have enough available to live for 25 to 30 years being mobile? The earlier in your career you know how the “pyramid effect of employment” works the better your odds will be to do something positive about it.
The “pyramid effect of employment” is about anticipating things before they happen as compared to always trying to react once something has happened. A major problem is that the “system” didn’t provide the majority of us with the proper career information up front. There’s a lot more that goes into this employment concept; that’s why it’s important to call EMCON today to receive all you need to know about the “pyramid effect of employment”.
