Are you a career or job-oriented person, and does it really make a difference? It does make a significant difference, and your answer should be that you're a career-oriented person! However very few of us know what it really means to be career-oriented, and what the actual criteria are to be a career-oriented person.
Let me ask a question: If someone initially believed himself or herself to be a career-oriented person and later in their career they find out that they in reality were not, would that be a good or bad thing? Likewise, if they believed himself or herself to be a job-oriented person and they actually are, would that be a good or a bad thing? The answer to these two questions would be whether or not their career was negatively impacted by their answer. If being job-oriented and thinking you are would actually negatively affect your career, would you want to know why a person should be career-oriented and what that criteria is?
EMCON believes that this important piece of career information is something you should know as early in your employment career as possible. Let's look at this issue in another way: How important is the foundation in constructing a building? If your foundation is small or weak, you will have a small or potentially a dangerous building. The larger the foundation, the larger the building can be. It's very similar in your career. If you do not have the proper foundation (employment knowledge) up front, you will potentially have employment problems, especially later in your career.
The “RKS: 298” Employment Concept will establish what the key issues are and how to use them to your employment advantage.
