Influence and the role it plays in your career will be enormous.  Are there people in your life that you look up to?  Are there people in your life you've looked to for advice?  Are there possibly people in your life that you are or have been impressed by?  That's all about influence!  In the workplace you will find one of those important career-influencing opportunities.  How you handle this influence opportunity will greatly dictate the level of your career success.  Let me ask you this:  How many people do you know in the workplace that seem and/or are really enjoying what they do? If most employees realized they were putting out all those negative influences , don't you think some of them might want to make some adjustments?

The reality of this issue is that we all are somewhat influenced by external factors in every segment of our lives.  There are many things that will influence us, and we will influence others in the things that we do.  There are only two options when it comes to influences; we can either influence people in a positive or a negative way.  Remember this:  You only control the influence you put out!  So, since you're in control of these influences, why would you ever want to put out any negative influences?  There are many areas that demonstrate the role influence plays in your career, and these are covered in the “RKS:  298” Employment Concept.
