What is the “RKS:  298” Concept?

It’s not a simple answer:  The bottom-line is that over one’s employment career there will be no excuses expected for why you don’t accomplish your wants and goals!

The “REAL WORLD OF EMPLOYMENT”; what is it?

If you could hire yourself, the answer to the above question wouldn’t matter!  There are many questions and answers that make up the “Real World of Employment”.  The most important question is do you know the difference between what the “System” has told you about employment, and what EMCON calls the "real world of employment?"  The answer is who’s really in control of your employment, THE “SYSTEM” OR YOU?

Is it all about ATTITUDE?

There are many self-help books on “ATTITUDE”, and its importance to an individual’s career is enormous.  Every motivational speaker will include “ATTITUDE” as one of the major determining factors within their presentation.  You have the choice, is yours more positive or negative?

There’s always a “price” when it comes to your career, do you know what it is and how it’s determined?

As we all know, you can’t get “something for nothing!”  When you start looking for a product or service you know there’s always a cost attached to it.  If you only have a certain amount of money you know that will govern your buying options.  While determining what is available, you find that the cost for the item you really want is more than the money you have to spend.  For the dollars you have, does the company go ahead and sell you the item?  As we all know no matter how much effort you’ve put into earning the money you have, if you don’t have the “Price” to pay – you’re not going to get the item!

Are you a career- or -job-oriented person; does it make a difference?

The key to employment and your career starts here, because it does make a difference.  Look at it this way:  The foundation of a building is extremely important and it will determine the size of building you can build.  You have a small foundation - small building and like-wise if you have a large foundation - large building.  Having the proper employment knowledge and insights will establish the strength of your employment foundation.  The “RKS: 298” Employment Concept will establish why it’s important to be career-oriented and how to use it to your employment advantage.

We’ve got the best “System” or “Country” in the world, is that enough?

That answer is very easy:  NO!  If it were, you wouldn’t be reading this information.  It’s true; for the most part you don’t want to be anywhere else in the world right now.  There are about 140 countries out there that if you were there for just one week, you’d know what h _ _ _ were all about.  Then when you returned home there might be a greater appreciation for the opportunity and life style we all enjoy in the United States.  The main question here is:  Are you in control of your employment career, or is the “System?”  If you answered that you’re not, then possibly knowing how you take control would be extremely important.

Competition and Marketability - how important are they to your future?

One of the things that bother me about how the “System” looks at competition today is how they are presenting it to our children.  “We don’t want little Billy or Mary to be in a competitive environment, because it’s putting too much pressure on them.”  My problem with this position is that life is all about competition.  I’m not saying that everyone wants or should be highly competitive.  What I am saying is that they should be properly informed on the role competition will play in their overall employment life.  Do we think this country got to be the best in the world by not out-competing the rest of the world?  Both competition and marketability will play major roles in your career, and you should know why and how to deal with both these critical factors.

How important is it to find the “right” company?

Most of us will work for someone else throughout our entire career, so finding that “right” company is something almost everyone initially is seeking.  I know everyone wants there to be one, and in these few sentences I may not be able to change your mind, even if I try.   Since it is true that most of us will work for someone else and having a company you are pleased to be working for is important.  However I will tell you that there are none; the “RKS:  298” Employment Concept has the reason why and will tell you if you call.

No excuses accepted.  What’s that all about?

In our employment life we’ve all occasionally used or given a reason (excuse) for why something didn’t get accomplished or done.  Fortunately many of these will have very little to no effect on one’s career.  The question you must ask yourself are which reasons (excuses) will have a negative affect on your career, and is there any way to eliminate them before they happen?  The answer is that we can’t eliminate all the reasons (excuses), but we can eliminate most of the ones that will have a negative effect.

What role does influence play in one’s career?

Some people might say others do not influence them, while others say that they are easily influenced.  The reality of this issue is that we are all somewhat influenced by external factors in every step of our lives. There are things that influence us and we will influence others in the things we do.  There are options in these influences; we can either use them in a positive or negative way in every phase of our lives.  Remember this:  You only control the influence you put out!  There are many areas that demonstrate the role influence plays in your career.  They are discussed in detail in the “RKS:  298” Employment Concept.
